We are the Nashoba Chess Club, a recreational chess league, created for all Kindergarten through 12th grade students in the Nashoba Regional School District. For more than 20 years we have been teaching and coaching the game of Chess to students in Bolton, Lancaster and Stow, Massachusetts. Over the years, we have evolved and now welcome K-12 student players from surrounding towns.
Our approach is simple yet structured. Dr. Imre Toth, our resident Master of Postal Chess, teaches game fundamentals prior to each session. New players are treated to hands-on instruction at the Beginners’ Table. Following instruction, the games begin!
No formal membership is required and you may come to as many or as few session as you’d like…but we think you’ll be back for more!
The 2022-23 Season
The club is open to any child in grades K-12 who has a love for playing chess and those who want to learn. Students in Bolton, Stow and Lancaster are all welcome! Instruction with Chess Master, Dr. Toth starts at 5:30pm and peer games start at 6pm. We meet in the Nashoba High School Cafeterian. Admission is $2. We kindly request the presence of a parent or caregiver at all times if your child is under 11 years old.
